Shoshana Berger shares a story from her life of when she felt similar to Balaam and explains eloquently how perhaps we have all had Balaam like experiences in our lives.

Shoshana Berger spent her career as a journalist and magazine-maker before joining IDEO as editorial director in 2013. She launched IDEO’s blog, the Octopus; launched the company’s first large-scale conference; and has worked on projects ranging from reimagining modern Judaism to the end of life to school lunch. In 2019, Shoshana joined a leadership team focused on systems change in education and the workforce.

DEADLINE Exclusive: Reboot Launches Reboot Studios

EXCLUSIVE: The Jewish non-profit Reboot has launched its own production company Reboot Studios, which will provide seed funding for and develop Jewish content across theater, television, film, podcasts, music and publishing.

The new banner stems from Reboot’s past successes funding projects across all media, including Saturday Night Seder, with Jason Alexander, Billy Porter, Henry Winkler, Pamela Adlon, Cynthia Erivo and more. That virtual Passover production was put on as a means of bolstering the CDC Foundation’s Coronavirus Emergency Response Fund in the early days of the pandemic, and would ultimately raise more than $3.5M. Abortion is a Jewish Value

Ilyse Hogue, president of Purpose, recent president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, and a fierce advocate for justice, shared some thoughts on the anti-abortion movement in our recent Reboot Ideas conversation: Democracy Thrives in Light. 

“What I always say is, the anti choice movement is…an ideology, much more about control, not really about abortion or sex…as white supremacists have become more brazen in the last many years.”

Abortion is a Jewish value. Judaism affirms our obligation to stand up and protest harm being caused in our midst; it is upon us to counter these false narratives and untruths and to fight for reproductive justice for everyone.
