Rebecca Salzhauer
Actor and Writer
Rebecca Salzhauer is an actor and writer from New York City. She graduated from Yale University with a BA in Theater & Performance Studies and Humanities. Salzhauer is at home with new work, rich text, offbeat comedy, hyper-articulate characters, plays that get weird and/or have dance parties, and scrappy theater magic. Her training has one foot rooted in classical acting and the other in improv comedy. She spent most of her childhood falling asleep to a rotation of Mel Brooks and Stephen Sondheim albums, which explains a lot. Salzhauer has recently worked on projects at Bay Street Theater, St. Lydia’s, The Tank, LaMaMa, Symphony Space, and Cape Fear Regional Theatre. Rebecca studied classical acting at the British American Drama Academy’s Midsummer in Oxford Program and is a proud alum of The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals.
Her writing has been published in The Forward, The New Haven Independent, and HowlRound Theatre Commons. She co-created and starred in the web series, i’m so happy for you!!!!! and does improv. rebeccasalzhauer.com
