Named after temporary makeshift structures called a “sukkah,” Sukkot is a week-long holiday that takes place five days after Yom Kippur.
Traditionally, Jews aim to live and eat in these huts (set up apart from the main home) during the week, representing how Israelites lived while they wandered the desert after leaving Egypt.
