DENDROFEMONOLOGY: A Feminist History Tree Ring

“While this project has been in the works for the past year, the timing feels particularly poignant. We need many more women leaders and feminist perspectives in the world right now,” says artist and Reboot Network member Tiffany Shlain, whose sculpture DENDROFEMONOLOGY: A Feminist History Tree Ring will be installed on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. presented by the National Women’s History Museum.

The 4-day event Nov 1-4, brings together 50 feminist organizations and speakers including groundbreaker Dolores Huerta, Taste of the Nation Host & Activist Padma Lakshmi, founder of the #MeToo Movement Tarana Burke, highest elected trans official Senator Sarah McBride, and the original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter. There will be a Shabbat candle lighting, a feminist art parade, voter registration, educational resources and more. With 93,000 races on the ballot this year that could affect women’s rights, trans rights, and reproductive rights, we have to keep pushing for the change we want – to repair the world.

The Anne Frank Gift Shop

Is there a wrong way to talk about the Holocaust? That’s the question at the heart of “The Anne Frank Gift Shop,” a dark comedy short about antisemitism that packs a vital and timely message. The film was shortlisted for the best live action short category for the 96th Academy Awards! When a high-end design firm presents its plans to reimagine the gift shop at The Anne Frank House, the company’s overt appeal to Generation Z sparks a debate about collective trauma, the Holocaust—and tote bags. Mickey Rapkin, whose best selling book was the basis for the Pitch Perfect film and television franchise, partnered with Reboot Studios, which funded the project as a part of its inaugural class of studio investments in 2022. Tiffany Shlain - Widening the Path for Next Generation

“So many women widened that narrow path before me and I want to push the sides out even further for the next generation. It’s my duty to do so. Maybe the 11th commandment needs to be “Honor every bold and courageous woman before you. I always felt like being a woman was an advantage. We can grow and birth a human being. That seems like quite a superpower and gives me a perspective that men don’t have.
