Ctrl Alt Del: Tashlique 2023 at Crissy Field East Beach – NEW TIME
Mark the start of your new year with Reboot and the JCCSF. Reset your system with our modern spin on a 600-year-old Rosh Hashanah ritual called tashlich. This custom of ridding ourselves of all our bad vuggum (karma) from the previous year and getting a fresh start for the new one is traditionally enacted by tossing crumbs (we now use birdseed to be more eco-conscious) into the ocean. Join us 3 p.m.- 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, by the shore at Crissy Field East Beach for a brief, engaging ritual. Bring a shofar, if you have one, to blow along with some of San Francisco’s finest players from the Jazz Mafia, the Irish Pipers Band, and the Ministers of Sound of the Saint John Will-I-Am Coltrane African Orthodox Church. Find out more here. RSVP here.
Tashlique is presented by Reboot with the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco with community partners Hebrew Free Loan, Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, The Kitchen, OneTable, RSJ Moishe SF, SF Hillel, Value Culture and media sponsor Broke-Ass Stuart.
We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. We have moved the event to Crissy Field East Beach where there are beach mats on the sand and beach wheelchairs and beach walkers available. To request an accommodation or for inquiries about accessibility, please contact Tanya Schevitz at firstname.lastname@example.org or 415-298-5532 after July 23.
By entering the physical area of the Tashlique event or participating in Tashlique, you accept the inherent risks and liability. Participants are required to sign the liability waiver.
PLEASE BE SURE TO COMPLETE THE SIGNATURE PORTION OF THE WAIVER TO FINALIZE THE FORM.
