DAWN is Reboot’s all-night interpretation of the magical and mighty holiday of Shavuot. Gathering digitally, we spend the night immersed in music, comedy, food, learning and conversation – all presented by some of the greatest artists, rabbis and thinkers of our generation. Choosing personal adventures through a digital festival experience, we will unpack the mysteries of the Jewish calendar’s best-kept secret.

Reboot and the Jewish Emergent Network have seen first-hand how the power of imagination can translate and transform Jewish ritual and ideas. In 2008 and 2010 Reboot hosted DAWN festivals in San Francisco – evolving the Shavuot experience through the lens of arts and culture. With DAWN 2020, we are amplifying creative ideas and bringing in wider perspectives to create a one-of-a-kind Shavuot festival experience. DAWN aligns with Reboot’s wider response to COVID-19, as we are hosting a series of public digital programs that showcase and explore new pathways for wandering Jews and the world we live in.

DAWN featured THREE concurrent streams of programming that reimagined the Ten Commandments for 2020:

• Reboot Signature Track: This Shavuot explosion is provided by some of the greatest artists and thinkers of the day. Be prepared for amazing multi-sensory programming and a whole lot of surprises and special guests.

• The Jewish Emergent Network Track: Torah all night with some of the most progressive and mind expansive rabbis you can find. They hail from around the country and together we’ll shelter at Sinai and rise up for revelation.

• Eight Hours ‘Round Midnight Track: A live 8-hour musical and spiritual performance by the acclaimed Grammy nominated jazz guitarist and composer John Schott. He’ll be there all night. You won’t want to miss it.
